NOLA Street Style

I have just returned from a weekend trip to New Orleans to celebrate the wedding of a great old friend.
It was my first time to NOLA and ooh, what a time it was.

A town with so much history, buzz and life. I was wide-eyed and excited every corner I turned.
A city seeped in tradition, painted homes and old french history keeps the locals eclectic and interesting.

From street performers to local wanderers, the numerous styles and fearless use of color was so refreshing and romantic.

sigh... I can't wait to go back!

Inspiration

I have always been inspired by the Sartorialist Blog.
Each morning I check out the photos posted to the site and try to imagine the life of the subject.
How they woke up that morning, put on their clothes and walk out the door, only to be snapped by the famous Sartorialist and posted on a blog for millions to see.
And then I wonder about the "Sartorialist..." who is the man behind the camera, who is the man that sees the detail that none of us do.
Finally this video answered all of my questions and really inspires me to be more perceptive and find the beauty in everything.
My new years resolution is to lead a more visual life.
enjoy!

Resort Wear

It is oh so chilly out there...
making me dream of warmer places.

And with the help of Calypso and Roberta Freymann, all I need is a plane ticket out of here.
Our new arrivals of Calypso and Roberta Resort Wear are so fresh and bright it makes you wish of sunny spring time.
So even if you have no where to go, counting down the days until you can slip one of these gems on will be worth the wait!

To New Beginnings

Cheers to a new year, new decade and new beginnings!
I hope everyone rang in the New Year with friends, laughter and little bubbly...
The first week of 2011 is filled with resolutions and reflection on the last decade,
and at Fleur we will be stripping our windows of holiday decor and preparing for spring style arrivals.
So much to look forward to, so keep checking in!
