Color Code

This pretty little Kirribilla dress came in today to Fleur, and the color is to die for-Perfect for Fall!

Maybe since I had spent yesterday reading September issues, I knew I had been seeing lots of Teal around so did a little Googeling, and this is the result:

The colors from the Pantone Fashion Color Report are pretty much the "It Girls" or "In Crowd" for Fall 2011. Click that link to see Deep Teal's fashionable friends. I personally love the Phlox, Emberglow, and Orchid Hush also...what a lineup!

Just to note: the Gucci Fall 2011 Deep Teal is pretty awesome! Do I see Deep Teal Snake??

I think we will be seeing LOTS more from this color lineup!

Am I rushing things?

I'm sure I am rushing things since I have had fall fever since the end of June...

However, the past few mornings here in Raleigh have been a little cooler...and the past few nights have been a little cooler...and this gives me hope fall is coming.

Calypso.

This new Calypso sweater came in yesterday, and of course I want/need it. The possibilities are endless for this thing. If you are 5'3 like me, its a big cashmere blanket...

Now and Then

If I were to pull out the cashmere, jeans, and riding boots I would either A: get funny looks or B: pass out walking to the Starbucks. Although I am running out of summer clothes (really) this is not happening...

Fall transition is needed! Stuff to wear now, make little wardrobe adjustments to, and then take into the fall and winter months. So no cashmere yet for this girl, but the new Shoshanna shipment has sort of inspired me to have hope.

I LOVE NAVY!

I really like mixing black and navy...either of these dresses going into October/November ish with a black tight...a black lace tight?! Yep. Now with a tan and a nude shoe?!? Yep.

Great things to get me through the rest of the Summer and into the fall without having a meltdown. Literally.

Holiday Cheer and Holiday Gear

The holiday spirit is finally hitting me. 

It took me a while to accept the early Christmas Decor lining the streets and the festive music blaring through the radio...

but now that Thanksgiving is in sight, I am ready to spread the holiday cheer and need to start looking for some holiday gear. 

One of the biggest shopping days of the year is on the horizon and whether you are looking for yourself or others, there will be deals you cannot resist.

I do love the sequined looks that have been lining our racks and sprucing up the dark grays and blacks of winter-wear. 

But lately, I have been drooling over fur and feathers...

Fur hats, fur jackets, fur vests, fur boots and fur skirts? 

yesss please!
I love the warm neutrals and texture, of course.
I even am thinking the sequin feather combo could make for a fun, festive look.

New Autumn Palette

New arrivals keep coming at Fleur and last weeks boasted a fresh fall palette. 

I took a minute to think about what is inspiring the designers.

Dragon fruit, grey skies influence the flirty ruffles of Hunter Dixon's tops.

And bright pomegranates and robin's egg blues keep Paul and Joe Sister pieces exciting and cheery. 

I can't wait to see what comes in next!

Thanksgiving Threads

I love Thanksgiving, although it's 2 weeks away, I cannot stop thinking about it. 

Planning has begun for the yummy menu, table settings and what to wear. 

I like feeling festive on Thanksgiving, and that usually means wearing something warm, cozy and rustic. 

I really like the photo spread they had in the November Real Simple Magazine. 

Fresh faces, warm knits, plaids and jewel tones.

and I just have to add the Ralph Lauren Ricky Tartan Sunglasses, because they have been peaking out at me from the pages of every magazine I pick up and I am starting to love them....

so festive yet hip.

Mixing It Up

When the seasons change there is always such a mix of styles. 

Some folks decide to still don summer duds, 

and others bust out their full on winter gear.  

When it is 30 degrees in the morning there is no question but to throw on your boots, sweater, scarf (and facemask.)

But then there are mornings like this one, where I walk out the door to a gloriously, sunny, 60 degree day. 

It is hard to know what to wear. 

Especially, when I still have summer dresses hanging in my closet... next to my winter threads.

Mix it up with and pair that summer dress with a winter sweater or coat and maybe even a pair of boots -if there is a chill- and you're good to go.

i heart daylight savings

daylight savings is the greatest!

especially in the fall. 

although it gets dark before I leave work... 

I love being able to start the day earlier.

Whether that means hitting the yoga studio or getting a head start on the work day, early morning sunlight is a plus!

With the recent opening of a lululemon athletica showroom in Raleigh, NC, I can now start the morning in style.

November Tune

I can't believe it is November already

Where does the time go?

Before you know it, we will be gearing up for the holidays

and searching for the perfect festive frocks. 

But until then, I am going to just soak up November, 

take it day by day and wrap up in something comfortable and warm.

In NC it has been a little less cool and crisp and a lot more humid and muggy. 

Although the leaves have changed and the Halloween decor is in full effect, everyone is walking around in sleeveless shirts and sandals. 

BUT, the 80 degree temps dropped into the 50's last night and at last, it feels like fall!

At Fleur our cool weather duds are flocking in and we have just been blessed with more Paul and Joe Sister!

It's beginning to look a lot like Leggings...

and it is beginning to feel a lot like French Curve. 

We just got our first stock of Leggings and Tights and it is, Oh, so exciting!

patterns and lace and ruching and buttons... the options are endless. 

And figuring out what to wear with them this fall offers endless possibilities. 

Leggings are everywhere:

under dresses, long sweaters, big t-shirts, chunky jackets, and even shorts.

The only problem will be deciding which pair to buy first!

Freaky Fall Fashion

It is feeling especially like fall this week.

With pumpkins lining the streets and candy corns strewn about, I am throwing myself into fall full force.

Some days I am feeling the browns, oranges and cranberry reds to mimic the changing leaves, 

but this week I am really digging the freaky fall blacks and rich contrasting colors.

I don't know about you, but it has been raining non-stop for about 3 days here in NC. I feel like it is 40 days and 40 nights or something, maybe I should get to building that ark. 

But in the meantime I will be looking for some warm duds that will also keep me dry. On cold rainy days, some like to spruce up the mood with bright colors, but I am loving the hunter greens, eggplants and warm taupes for the dull mood that the rain brings.

And of course you cannot get through the fall without your Hunter Boots,

Nomad Chic and Fashion Week

It is Fashion Week everywhere right now even in North Hills Raleigh, North Carolina. There have been fashionable events peppering the last few days and Fleur is participating in two more before the week comes to a close. 

Tomorrow, at a private Fall Fashion Luncheon, we will be showcasing our top, ready-to-wear, Fall Fashion Trends. Animal Prints, Sequin Numbers and Layered Looks are lining our racks in anticipation of the fast approaching fall weather. 

On the evening of Thursday, September 16th from 5:30 to 7:30 we will be celebrating "Ladies Night Out" and the end of Fashion Week with North Hills. At this event we will be unveiling our fall sweater arrivals and will be demonstrating the multitude of ways to wrap yourself up in the Nomad-Chic trend.

This event is open to ALL and we will be paired up with the famous Mura restaurant to provide our guests with fresh appetizers and glasses of champagne.  

I hope you can all make it out to enjoy a treat!
